With Elijah we could not wait to have him talk/communicate with us. So we started signing with him early on (probably to early). With Ada Liz we have been a little less diligent. She LOVES to screech to get what she wants (not fun) so today I tried the
more sign with her and after a couple of tries she did it. It maybe time to brush up on our
ASL.

I used a little ASL with my girls too. It's so neat to see how much they really understand. And, now that they are older I can say, STOP, BE NICE, and PAY ATTENTION all without screaming...which really comes in handy durning church. There's a great series of DVDs out there called Signing Time. We get them from the library. They also play old episodes on PBS. Your kids would love it, I'm sure, and so would you!
Thank you. I will look for the dvd, the next time I am in the library. (true be told I do not go as much as I should)
More & Help were favorites around here. Oh, and eat!
Babies signing is one of the cutest things in the world. good job, Ada!
Stephanie, I agree it was super cute when she signed it.
We signed with both of ours too. Our daughter (who is now three), signed up a storm, at an early age. Our son (who is now 16 months), just signed a little bit. He is very vocal and amazingly is talking up a storm. His favorite sign, though, is outside. You make the motion like you are turning a door knob. He is all boy and would love to be outside all day long.
