Sad day at Day Life In

We had to let our little swimmy go today.

He is a full flagged frog now.  So cute.  The last couple of days he was climbing the walls.  Time for him to go.

 Trying to be brave.

Bye bye..... what else can we do out here?

Poor kid.  I am sure that he will be OK.
Now on to the next adventure:

Baby bunnies anyone?

just cute

Swimmy

Here is our little Frog. It is amazing how fast he changed from a tadpole to a frog. One night he had no front legs, just little buds where they would be and the next day he had these great legs! same with the tail. Oh how sad it will be to give him to Kari tomorrow and watch him leave. Oh well on to the next pet adventure.....hummm maybe we could find some leaches (heeheeheee).

five for me

This weekend I found a workout machine. (it is a cheap thing that has no computer and was only 5 bucks, but I needed some sort of change that would help me out of a funk I am in. So I have decided that I am going to workout on it for 5 min everyday (not sure about weekends yet). I know this does not sound like a lot to most people, but I wanted a goal that I could do. While I was doing my 5 mins today I decided that I would try and do 5 things a day that would help me out of my funk. So far today I have:
  1. work out
  2. I left the groceries in the kitchen and made lunch (if fact I left them there for a while while I did other things)
  3. Sewing on my quilt (all the little blocks are done and I sewed them all into big blocks!!!)
  4. 3 blogs today (that has to count right?)
  5. ......... man who knew it would be so hard to find 5 things that would help me out of a funk in a day.... good thing it is only 4 so I have lots of time to find one more thing:)

OK that is all for now, but it is just 9am so I have time for the rest. What 5 things are you going to do for your self today?

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!

This just in....... Swimmy (that is what the kids named our tadpole) has front legs!!!! Last night at dinner he did not and today he does!!!!

You can even see them in the photo.  Some days I wish I could grow a couple of extra limbs heeheehee.

We have a busy day of fun: beaches, friends, art stuff,  MickyD's, last day of soccer camp, and many things that we do not know yet.  Hope you all have a great day.

Not much to say today.  We have had a very slow week.  I was feeling OK, but did not feel like doing ANYTHING.  I had wanted to work on my quilt, but have been cuddling with Ada while Elijah is in camp and have been reading to Elijah while Ada sleeps.  Oh well it has been great to spend time with the kids, even if it means I am not doing very much else.  Today my back started hurting again (bad). I am hoping that by tomorrow it will be down to a very dull pain and not such a sharp one.

I will write more tomorrow if I can find time to stop cuddling and reading:)

Different kinda pet.

In my house growing up we where kinda known for having strange "pets".  We had cats of course and maybe even a dog for 30 sec or so, but the strange pets are the ones that people remember the most.

There where the chickens, they lived under our porch.  This seemed like a good place, lots of air, lots of space (it was a large porch), easy for us to get in and out to collect all the eggs.  We where going to get LOTS of eggs, after all there was lots of chickens and one REALLY mean roaster (we did not know you did not need a roaster).  We never got any eggs, but it was my job to go in and see (everyday) and the roaster would bite me (everyday!!!).  One day we wake up and all the chickens where gone.  I am pretty sure I was not sorry that I did not have to face that roaster anymore:)  Note: you need to dig down in the ground and put the chicken wire under ground or the fox/something will come in and eat all your chickens

There was the mouse we caught in our flour bin.  It was a big drawer that came out at an angle so it was deep and shaped like a triangle.  One day a mouse fell in the bin and could not get out.  I think was put food in for it until the day that we left it open and walked out of the room the cat did not waste any time she just jumped in and had a nice yummy dinner. Note: cats like to eat mice.

Of course there was the leaches. They where fun.  They stayed in a large pickle jar.  We caught them at the lake that we would go swimming at (when you went swimming you always had to check to make sure you did not have any on you.)  I do not think that we gave them any food I think we just kept them for a while and then let them go back in the lake.

Then of course there was the snakes, turtles (we saved them from China town from being eaten), newts, mudpuppies, and of course the tarantula that Mom got after I left the house.  I am sure that there where lots of other animals that I am forgetting (Mom, Dad, Sister if you remember any you can comment or send me an e-mail and I will update this blog:)

So why this long story you ask?  Well we just got a tadpole.  It is so cute with little legs already.  We are going to let it go when it has 4 legs and no tail.  No name yet but is is photo of him/her.

See him in the corner there?  You can almost even see his legs.

Have a hoppy day.

Five Hundred Twenty Five Thousand Six Hundred Minutes

I have had the most wonderful year of gifts. Every gift that I have received this year has been thoughtful, sweet, wonderful and things that I will remember for a life time. This week Mark and I celebrated our anniversary and friends of ours treated us to dinner and Rent.

How do you measure a year? If you do not know what the title means click here and listen, but do not blame me if it gets stuck in your head.

Last couple of days

Update: We had a great time with our friends. It was nice to catch up with them and see their kids. On our way home the sky was a wonderful color of yellow and orange. Then we saw a full rainbow. Elijah could see it, but Ada could not from her side of the car, so I pulled over and got her out of her car seat (in the rain and traffic) so that she could see it. We followed it all the way home. Wonderful end to a wonderful day. Now it is late (9pm is late for me) and I must get to sleep. Good night.

We have been very busy the last couple of days. Lots of play dates, a sleep over in a tent (Elijah), reading, water balloons, library time, 2 loads of laundry on the line and one more in the dryer (not enough room on the line), dinner with friends.... It does not seem right not to blog more about all these things, but right now I have to sign off and get going.... we are going to dinner at a friends house. Have a great weekend. See you next week....

Oh and the Ada quote of the week.... " I am shy of going to sleep" (translation I do not want to go to sleep because I am having to much fun being awake;)

This is kinda addictive.....

I mean really, I was in the car waiting for a train to pass today and I was knitting (it was a long train).  Thanks again Kari.

Summer ROCKS!!!!!!

It is almost 10 and we are all still in our jammies, and just eating breakfast (can you all hear my husband rolling his eyes?). We made the most wonderful muffins (with eggs of course.... which might be why they are so good), read Harry Potter in bed, they watched some TV and I knitted while the muffins where in the oven. Oh and we had fresh strawberries that Elijah picked yesterday. That was our day so far.

Yesterday my friend took Elijah for the WHOLE day (I mean I dropped him off at 9 and picked him up at 4:30!!! He had tons of fun. They when strawberry picking, played Lego's...... not sure what else put it was a great day for a 6 year old.

While he was away Ada and I spent part of the day with my friend Kari. I have not seen Kari in what feels like a month of Sundays (BTW that is 30 weeks ..... not sure why I had to look that up it was REALLY easy math) so it was great to have some time with her. She come over and looked at how my quilt is coming along (all but 3 blocks done) and help me set up how I was going to sew them together. She also brought me my b-day gift!!! She brought me a wonderful bag (that she made) filled with yarn and a pair of needles. She also showed me how to do magic loop knitting. It is so much fun, it does take a little to get used to, but it is FUN.

I need to get going soon because all the peace in the house is starting to break down, but before I go I need so show you a couple of photos from the last couple of days:

This one is from last week, nice yes??? Makes you want to go right out and get a Popsicle yes?

How many boys can you get on one rock?

Look at me Mom!

Mark was in a volleyball tournament over the weekend (Elijah did a great job helping keep score)

Here is my wonderful new knitting bag (thank you Kari!!!)

And the inside.

And how far I have gotten (it is going to be a square... not sure how.....
Yummy b-fast.

OK now it is almost 11and I should get a bath. Have a nice day.

Last day of school

Well E and M just left for the last day of Kindergarten. I am a little sad. When I go and get him today I will have a 1st grader on my hands (sniff sniff sniff). (I will also have a almost 3 year old, two other 1st graders and a 5th grader.... and no I am not going to an adoption agency this afternoon;) just watching some friend's kids) Oh and I do not have tons of time to miss his as he is getting out in less then 2 hours (kinda wonder why they sent him to school today).

We are all headed to the zoo to celebrate a great school year. I hope it will not be to crowded ( but since everyone is getting out early today I do not hold out a lot of hope:)

Sorry no photos today Mom and Dad (I know how you love them, but I have nothing to share). Enjoy SUMMER BREAK (this is my first as a mom and it makes me a little scared, but I think it will be lots of fun.)

I just reread that last part and almost sounds like I will not be writing over the summer, but that is SOOOO not true. If I did not have a place to write I might not make it to the other end of the summer (heeheehee). So see you all on Mondayish.

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

Well today is the first day in what feels like weeks (really only since Monday) that I have had any (and I mean ANY) energy. I had to cut back on my meds and I think that the energy level will be cut back with the meds..... sucks. Today I set my sights low for my task list (go help in Elijah's class), but I have been feeling well enough to do other things (this is a big list for me so please be impressed) filled the dishwasher, got a load of laundry in the wash and on the line, boiled those eggs .... well that is it, but I am still going to E's class. I hope that this spell of good feeling lasts for a while (not holding my breath, but I am hoping).

Ada is playing happily in the driveway (first nice day we have had in a while). Here is another photo from yesterdays Graduation. (Oh and about that... I think that it is kinds silly to have a graduation for kindergarten, but it was SOOO CUTE.)

Update: It was a short lived bit of energy, but at least I got stuff done:)

Boy they sure do grow up fast.

This is from when Elijah was just born. Small little thing.

And this is today.  When he first come home I could not even imagine him past the first few weeks let alone going to school (I know it seems silly now, but somehow I thought we would be stuck in that baby world FOREVER;).

PS some days I still fall asleep while he is sitting with me, but now he stays awake:)

And just because I think all Blogs should have photos:

Today

Well Blogger is down right now and since Ada is watching her “I want to blog” TV show I have to try and write this in a word doc and copy it over..... lets see how it works:)

Anyway we had a nice end of the week last week. Elijah's school had a concert (every class did a song). Elijah's class did a cool song called “Hum mp-de-dump” supper cute. I wish I would have taken photos. Before the concert we had a pizza party and painted all the kids faces (thanks Mary that paint that you sent is GREAT!). The kids had a fun time. I try and go into E's class once a week and help out, I love being able to be in the class. It is fun to see how they are learning. Ada comes with me and plays on the rug with the dolls (with 15 kids in E's class and only 2 girls the doll do not get played with a lot this year:). I still find it amazing that I can take her in the class and can get anything done. Elijah was not like this and I could not have had him in the class with me (he would have been down the hall, up the wall, pulling the fire alarm (kidding.....kinda).....).

Anyway on to the rest of the weekend (running out of time on the TV show). Mark, E, and A went camping with one of our neighbors. It was so nice to have a little time in the house without them. I spent Friday watching TV (I know I should have done other more productive stuff, but I just wanted to veg). I got some sewing done (I now have 27 blocks done, only a couple more to go). I was nice. The rest of the weekend was spent being lazy and getting energy back (it did not work so well as I am low on energy today... oh well).

The show is now over so I have to get going. But one last thing..... last night I saw the first fire fly of the season.

Afternoon update.

I went grocery shopping with Ada. It took all the energy I had out of me. Thankfully Mark was home to help unload the car and put most of the stuff away. Ada also helped, but she was hungry :

Ada: Is my lunch ready yet?

Me: Not unless your fairy God mother made it for you.

A: (smiling) you are my fairy God mother! (giggle)

M: No I am not (still sitting on the stool that I unloaded the groceries from not moving)

A: Then grandma is!

M: then we should call her and see if she made your lunch.

A: OK

She called grandma and asked her if she was her fairly God mother and if she would make her lunch (giggle). Mom thought that was cute. But then I still had to make her lunch...... I just read a blog about the missing laundry fairy who has not been seen in a while. I am wondering if the fairly God mother is being held hostage by the same person????? Maybe we should start a web search for the two of them????? Do you know anyone that has seen them????

Anyway I must of looked really bad when I showed up to pick up E from School, because A (with her shoes on the wrong feet ) and I hardly got on the playground before a friend offered to take E for the afternoon. Thank you God for wonderful friends. I got a nap and now am thinking about sewing, or reading..... thinking reading may win out as it involves staying right where I am and not moving more then my hands and eyes..........
