Home At Last

We had a great weekend. I learned lots of great stuff, got lots of fabric, and laughed my pants off a lot. I do not have photos of all the stuff I got done and am not going to blog about the weekend now, but I wanted to share this fun photo of the 3 of us.
I also wanted to show you what I did today.
These napkins are fun and easy.

Here they are laid out. I made 4 of them.

The idea for these banners comes from my friend Stephanie and you can see more of her cool stuff here.

I made 3 sets of these and only had to go to the fabric store 2 times;)

Do you listen to me?

I was talking to Elijah today and he was asking his 100th question of the day (it is 7:30am and he has to get as many questions in before 8am LOL). I answered him and then he asked me again. Sometimes this goes on and on (him asking the same questions again and again.) But today I wanted to put a stop to it.

Z: Do you listen to me when I answer your questions?
E: No

Well now that answers a lot of my questions!

Yesterday he was talking with my mom and dad. I can hear everything that is said and am making dinner. I am only 1/2 listening, but I did hear this part ...

(they have been telling stories they make them up and each taking a turn)

My Mom: But I wanted the rainbow bird to live and make rainbows.
E: OK then a cannon comes and booms him out of the sky!!!
giggle giggle giggle

All is well here we are just busy. I am getting ready to go on my craft weekend (48 hours without kids and nothing to do but craft!!! ) I will be working on making bags so look for my shop to open sometime next week. Also my Mother-in-law is coming on Sat. I love when she comes it is so much fun, but I did think maybe I should clean a little bit for her and get some groceries.

I will try and write tomorrow, but we are leaving at noon and I do not have a lick of clothing packed (most of my craft stuff is packed, but I better get that done also) so it may not happen. I told my friends that I would be in the driveway with my bags packed yelling their names at noon so they better not be late;)

What Are you Old Enough For?

Ada Liz started walking this weekend!!!! Also we turned her car seat around. She is getting to be such a big girl! When Elijah saw that seat turned around he said:

"Ada Liz I am old enough to have crayons in my room and you are old enough to sit the right way!"

Praying Mantis Hunt

To get Elijah to eat his dinner I promised him that we could go "hunting" praying mantis after dinner (we where eating outside again). I had been wanting to see where that huge insect was living on our property and I thought Elijah would like it. So off we went.

This guy was the first thing we found. Who knew that we had so many frogs here?

Then we found our friend from the rose bush, he was on the clematis this time.

We did not find the praying mantis, but for a 20 min "hunt" in the yard I think we did good.

Praying Mantis

We had thought that maybe the praying mantis had all bit the dust and then with the summer coming to a close here was this guy on slider today!!! Very Cool!!! He is VERY BIG!! We thought that he might get a grasshopper while we watched, but Ada Liz wanted to go in and it scared the grasshopper (does he look mad to you?) I am going to see if I can get more photos. Will post if I do.

Scary Shirt

Here is the eyeball shirt! I think it is cute. I am making 2 of these and I got both of the shirts all eyeballed but only got the back of one of them sewed on.

This is the front

Wonderful Day

Warning: This blog is all about kids! Way to many photos, but they where all cute, so I had to put them all up.... anyway it has been some time since I blogged about the kids.

Today it was in the mid 70's and we where to go to a friends house, but I did not feel up to it. Ada Liz, Elijah and I all have colds and we all seemed bad when we got up, so I passed on going to our friends house (this is a bummer as she just got done with a bunch of construction and I wanted to see how her house looks now... but it can wait).

So we stayed home and played, and rested. It has been nice so far today.

Who would have believed that we would be playing in the sand box in Sept?

OK this so looks like a kid in the middle of summer not start of fall. Am I so loving the warm weather.

This is how I watched the kids play, after I got done cutting out all the eyeballs (it is a cute fabric I got at one of my many trips to the fabric store;) for a shirt I am making for Elijah... OK I could not have a blog about only kids I had to throw a little craft in there. I will show you the cute shirt as soon as it is done.

She was a sandy mess, but loving it!

She is standing now all the time and she can walk a couple of steps. She just keeps adding more and more steps to her walking. Elijah just up and walked one day and the next week he was running, but she is taking her time. That is OK with me, do not grow up to fast little girl.

After a bunch of playing we had our lunch outside. We have been having dinner outside for a couple of night now and it was nice to do it at lunch time also.

I think that laying down helps get more ketchup on your face and then you can look cuter after you are all done (beauty tip for the day;)

And Later

This is the same rose, but the sun in the middle of the flower was to much for the frog.

Look What I found in My Rose Bush

Crystals Today

Here is what the crystals look like today. Boy they have changed since yesterday.

Craft Night

I had a wonderful night out with my friend Kari. We went to a coffee shop and crafted for a couple of hours. It was wonderful and I got a bunch done of stuff started. I will show you when I get something done.

Cool Kids Crystal Project

We did a crystal experiment last week and it is growing like crazy. It is fun to watch and EASY!!! We got the recipe from here. We did it with some good friends, but I do not think theirs has worked yet, but boy have ours!

When I was taking photos for this blog Elijah wanted to take photos too so this last one is from his camera (not the best thing in the world, but he LOVES taking photos and always wants me to download them onto the computer. So that is what we did before swim class today... him sitting on my lap picking out the photos... next you know I will have him helping me write the blog;)

We had a busy day so far. Swim class, cell phone store (needed new contract and carrier), lunch, and Target (we had about 3 diapers left.... that might be cutting it a little to close;) Oh and I almost forgot Jo-Ann's (I know I need to be stopped, but somehow I just CAN NOT). The fabric was just calling me, and the kids love to go there. (OK now I am just making excuses, but why not;)

Someone Stop Me

I went to the fabric store today, I had a big list of things I needed and found a bunch of cute fabric for new bags!!! I sooo should not go to that store without someone to stop me;) Maybe I need to set up a phone line and call someone when I am about to buy more fabric!!! You all know it will not be most of you because you guys might get me to buy more instead of less;) Anyway I think I got some cute stuff, wait until you see the cute bags I am going to make out of them.

I also got a bunch of notions. You know cause I needed them to. Well maybe need is not the right word.

Here are the 2 cuties that helped me shop.

Yet Another Crafting Day

Yesterday we (Elijah and I) went to a friends house. She has 2 kids and the 3 kids played all day while my friend and I crafted. I got 13 new bags cut out and ready to sew!!! I can hardly wait to sew them. Does it seem crazy to try and have a crafting day with 3 kids under 6? Yes you say. I would of agreed, but it went well. Her house was a little crazy when we where done, but we got it fixed up.

Toy Shopping

When Elijah was little and we had no toys, I spent a lot of time in the toy stores buying lots of toys (looking back I now know we did not need most of them). When I would go to someones house and Elijah liked a toy I would think about the toy until I went out and got it for him. I did sometimes refrain from getting toys, but when kids are little they out grow stuff fast and "need" new developmental toys to help them grow and learn (because they would not grow and learn without them...right;) With Ada Liz it has been different. She just seems to be growing and learning without new toys all the time (image that!). But sometimes she really likes a toy at someones house and I think... I have one of those in the basement somewhere I should get that out. Well today I went "shopping" in my basement (one of the cheapest toy stores around... and no that is not invitation for anyone to brake into my basement and take toys;) So long story short here are some of the new to her/old to Elijah toys that I got for Ada Liz today. She loves them and so does Elijah.

And here is Elijah walking on his foot for the first time in 4 weeks!! He still needs to where the cast when he is playing, but it is nice that he can have it off sometimes.

Crafty Thursday

Yesterday I had a friend from Church stop by and we worked on the quilt that we are doing for the Church's crying room. It is moving along, slowly, but moving. It will look way cute when it is done.

Big Girl Overalls

Today Mark took Elijah to school so that Ada Liz and I could have some home time. She and I got to play and laugh and give kisses (her new thing, very cute). Right now she is in her crib taking a nap (one of the first naps in her crib this week, we have been busy). Lots going on, but not much to blog about. Just wanted to check in and say hi and share these photos. My Mom and I bought these overalls for her last year and the thought that she would ever fit into them made us laugh, but here she is all big. I know that she will be growing so fast in the next couple of years and soon I will be saying " Can you believe she used to fit in these overalls!"

Where Have You Been?

A friend of ours got this shirt for Elijah and he loves it. He wears it often. The other day he had it on and a mom in the playgroup asked if he had ever been there (Goddard Space Center) and Elijah looked at her like she was crazy "No I have never been to outer space!!" She just smiled and let it go.

News Flash

This just in:

Elijah is watching Super Why (on PBS) and they just asked him his name. He answered like "Elijah and this is my baby sister Ada."

So nice of him to include her;)

Davy Jones Locker

We are in the mall today when we walk by an empty store front with the gate down.

E: Mom look that is a jail ... No wait it is Davy Jones Locker.
M: Who knew that Davy Jones Locker was in our mall.

Beware the next time you are at the mall;)

And one more thing that Elijah keeps saying and I want to remember. Ada Liz is a non-traditional crawler, but every once and awhile she does traditional crawling and Elijah pipes up "Look Mom she is crawling like a real baby!" To which I have to say "SHE IS A REAL BABY!!!" ;)

Tuesday

It is 7 am and both kids are sleeping. One from last night and one (Ada Liz) down for her first nap of the day. Yes that is right she was up at 5:30!!!

It is cold here and I started pulling out all my winter stuff, long pants and shirts. I am sorry to see summer leave. I love fall and will get into the swing of things soon, but for right now I am morning the loss of summer.

Well Elijah is up so I must go.

Super Woman or Just Plain Crazy?

Here is a list of things I did today:
  • 1 handmade bag
  • 1 shower
  • 2 baths ( kids)
  • 3 breakfasts
  • 1 Weight Watchers meeting (did not stay)
  • 1 ride for friend to get to and from WW meeting
  • 1 birthday party (10:30 -2)
  • 1 cleanish house
  • 2 loads of laundry folded (it has been sitting there for a couple of days now;)
Now it is 3:30 and I am going to lay down and read (Oh I forgot to say that I have 2 sleeping kids!!!!)

Birthday Gift

I woke up at 5 today, so I decided to make a bag for a birthday party that we are going to today. I know I could have waited a little longer to make it even closer;) I did buy a gift to give to this little girl, but wanted to make her a bag and ran out of time, so when I could not sleep I got up and did it. I think it came out cute. (You maybe seeing some of these on in my etsy site when I get it up and running.)

Cute yes?
