Last Night

I came home from class last night to find my husband trembling. I cuddled up next to him and watched as the Phillies won the world series. It was so nice to be able to be there with him for that.

How long will this last?

I have been thinking of when the kids start getting older. I have been making a little list of things that are not likely to last much longer here are two that came to me yesterday.

Being able to go bra shopping and Elijah always picking me to be on his team (this one I am really going to miss).

Is this Normal?

Does it seem normal to you that a woman would think it was a good idea to take a 4 year old bra shopping with her? Some longtime readers maybe thinking of the swimsuit incident. But I am starting at the end of the story.

Late night was open house at Elijah's school. We where all planning on going, but Mark had not slept well and Ada Liz had a hard day, so they stayed home. This meant that Elijah and I could have a "date night". We went to school and had fun. We meet one of our playgroup friends who also goes to the same school (he was there with his mom and grandparents). So we all went to dinner at the one of kids favorite restaurants. We had a nice dinner and nice company. It was fun. When Elijah and I got in the car to go home I though..... maybe it would be easier to buy bras with Elijah then it would with Ada Liz (I am not sure what my logic was... but hay). So I asked Elijah if he would mind shopping with me.

E: Of course I would mind.
Z: You would mind OK then we will not do it. (I did let him choose so I can live with his answer)
E: No Of course I would mind.
Z: Do you want to do it?
Z: OH you wanted to say of course I don't mind:)

So in we go. I found the nicest lady and she did the measurement to tell me that the bra I was wearing (from before I lost all this weight) was 1 number size to big and 2 cup sizes to big!! Cool!!! and she helped me pick out a bunch of bras. Elijah was a little antsy, but was OK when he learned that the 3 plane mirror could be folded in on itself and he could stand inside it (making millions of Elijah's.... way cool).

By some grace of God he managed to enjoy the whole time and I got 3 new bras!! I am soooo happy. OK so maybe this is not really a is this normal blog, but it was the best I had this week:)

Just Ada Liz

Who Knew?

Elijah and Ada Liz in the car yesterday:

AL: (fuss fuss fuss) (I think she is trying to get something)
E: I can't help you Ada I am not your servant..... well sometimes I am.

Is this Normal?

I have seen lots of cool weekly blog entries from my blog-friends like Thankful Thursday over at Clothesline Chronicles, Ruby Tuesday over at Built to Last, .. I am so sure that there are others out there. I was thinking that my life is more on the lines of "Is This Normal?" HAAHAA So you may be seeing more of these entry's.

So on to the story. Elijah has been a little obsessed with death lately. I am not sure what has taking this on, but it does scare me a little (although I am also sure that it MUST be normal.... RIGHT?) Lately his imaginary friend Goggie has died (this was sadder for me then for him I think). Goggies mother is pregnant with another baby that she is very happy about. We still have other imaginary friends, but Goggie has been with us the longest.

A couple of weeks ago he was playing with his cosy coupe and this is what he wanted to play with it:

He stayed like this for some time. I have been extra diligent about seat belts these days!

Story of the Day

So this may not be the most exciting news you have read today, but yesterday I got to use my new CROCK POT!!!!! I love it. I lost my old one to a target end:

  • Did you know that you could not put the liner on the stove top to thicken up your "no fail beef stroganoff"?
  • Did you also know that if you where going to do put it on the stove top that you should not do it while people where sitting down to dinner?
  • Did you also know that if you have company over you should not have them sit down to dinner saying "it will just be another minute" while you are putting said liner on the stove top?
  • Did you also know that if you put said liner on the stove top that it will make a BIG mess on the stove top? (while you have company at the table ready to eat)
  • Lastly did you know that in 20 minutes you can have something else for the company to have and that your dad can clean up the mess?

But I digress, that happened 6 months ago and I have been crock potless since then, but this weekend I went out and got one and last night we had beef stew and it was GREAT! So here is a photo of my new pride and joy:

Pretty yes?

Apron Swap

Here is what I got in from the Apron Swap that I was in. I have to say that it was like my birthday! It was so much fun opening the package and seeing all the wonderful stuff that Val included in my box. To see more photos go check out her blog here.

It looked so nice that I did not want to open it, but that did not last long;)

Look at all the good stuff in the box and there is a wonderful book that you can not see.

Me moments after opening the apron. She did such a nice job with it!!! I love it!!!

Here is a better photo of it. Do you see those little pink balls at the bottom? Ada Liz LOVES these. She is so gentle with them, but when I am cooking she likes to come up and play with them.

And Val included little bags for the kids as well. SO SWEET!! Thank you Val!!!
Now I have to get on getting my box ready. I did make the apron now I just have to figure what else I am going to put in the box and get it out to my partner;)

You shall not pass!

This is what my son said to me as I was coming down the stairs yesterday and this is what he looked like:

For some time now some of my friends (and you know who you are) have been giving me a hard time saying that I am a scifi geek. I have been fighting it, but now I think I will have to own up to it. For those of you that are not scifi geeks or do not know where "You shall not pass" comes from when I googled it all the listings where for Lord of the Rings. ( I am still not sure that I qualify as a geek I only watch Dr Who, Tourchwood, Sara Connor, StarGate... maybe I should stop now;)

I have lots of other things to blog about. In the last couple of days I have been tagged by 3 friends ( I will get to it soon, I promise.) And I got a WONDERFUL package from Val over at Yarni Gras. I have to get some photos of the wonderful apron she made for me and the fun package that come with it. I will do both of these things soon, but right now I am going to work on the house and rest a little so that I have lots of energy for crafting tonight;)

Fun at the Park

Our friends invited us to come to their park and jump in the leaves. We had lots of fun, and a couple of funny mishaps:

It all started off well, nice lunch and good friends.

Then one of the kids shot the rocket into this tree. Do you see that van next to the tree? That is my van and I had to stand on it to get the rocket out. (very funny)

Next they shot it into this tree, no where near the van and on the lawn so driving the van up to it was not a good idea, so we decided to use a soda bottle to get it down, good idea right?

OK maybe if we where better shots it would be a good idea, but then we had 2 things to get out of the tree. LOL

In the end we got both out and got the kids to only shot the rocket in the open area. The rest of the time was just fun in the leaves.

This last photo is proof that if the battery on your camera is going and the screen does not show you anything you can still get a photo.

Fun in the Sun.

We went out on a picnic today. It was fun! Here are some photos from our trip:

Here we all are in the car:

Here is Ada Liz (I think she is texting someone;)

Here we are on the see saw. I was making him fly in the air.... tons of fun.

I did not make her fly in the air, but she would have liked it if I did. Every time I stopped she would do the more sign.

I just love this photo. I am sure that next week she will be climbing up there with him;)

Yesterday we went to a pumpkin patch with some good friends. We went into a corn maze, had a hay ride, and played on the cool playground they had. I forgot my camera so I do not have any photos right now, but my friends where nice enough to let me use theirs so I will get you some photo when I get them (hint hint Buran;). But here are some photos from when we got home.

I just love the long stems on these pumpkins!

Try and get a 15 month old to look at the camera when there is a cute shot to be had;)

Is this Normal?

I have been running around a lot this week. I feel like all we do is RUN. Yesterday we had a nice relaxing day ... until 9am then it was:

9:15 leave for swim class
9:45 swim class
10:15 get out of swim class (rush to get showered and dressed... ever try and rush a 4 year old to get dressed?)
10:50 pull into the doctors office
11:00 see doctor (have them tell me that Ada Liz has very nice looking ears.... bummed mom;(
Stop at 2 convenient stores to see if they have bananas and turkey (don't convenient stores have bananas anymore???)
12:00 get home make lunch/pack lunch for another doctors appt
12:15 leave the house for other side of town
12:20 stop at grocery store to get bananas and turkey
12:55 make it to the doctor (different from the first one)
1:00 see doctor
2:00 back in the car on the way home.... how can it only be 2!!!
2:40 get home both kids are sleeping so what the heck I sleep also (right there in the car... I can not even get out to lay on the sofa;)
3:00 call to find out why I got double charged for something
3:10 call and sign Elijah up for a Preschool players thing at the library (they put on a play... sounds like fun)
3:15 Ada Liz is crying in the car

All the time Ada Liz is crying on and off.
Does every ones day end up like this?

Today I was out of the house by 5:45 to go grocery shopping... it was kinda nice to do it without the kids;)

Just Vote

I just had to put this up. I do not talk a lot about voting, but this is good.

Caution: certain words are used which may make some people pause (like my mother-in-law, but not my mom).

I am still out here.

Sorry it has been so long. No good reason, just busy. We had a great stay with Nana. The kids got lots of time to play with her and they both got time with her alone. She helped me do lots of stuff, run lots of errands, and folder TONS of laundry. Thank you so much Nancy.

Ada Liz is not interested in sleeping so I will have to go get her, but here are a couple of photos for those of you that just show up for the photos;)

The kids LOVED being pushed in this thing.

When you can walk you can put your brothers boots and walk and that makes it easier;)

Quilt Weekend

So some of the stuff I did is in the shop. You can see it to the right. I did not make the Hawaiian one this weekend, but the other 3 I did. I also made:

This cute bag, but I sold it right away! My first sale!!! (OK it was a friend, but still!)

These cute little shirts.

These 3 little bags are mostly done, but I did not like the handles that I took on the weekend with me for them so I had to leave them unfinished.

I also got some new fabric for a quilt and I started getting that together. I have most of the strips cut and some of the blocks started. I do not have a photo of that right now, but I will get one up soon.

Shop is open

Got the shop open. I will be adding things as the day goes on, so keep looking;)
