Today I completed my last lesson for my photo class. I wrote up a little bit about each of the photos so I thought I would just include them here. I hope you like them.
I decided to try and capture my kids with motion. I wanted to see if I could try and capture this time in my kids life, more then just snap shots, but what they are like RIGHT NOW.
This is what my daughter mostly is like laughing, smiling, giggling.
The things I like and feel work well in this photo:
you can feel the joy in this photo
everything is in focus, but her and the blanket (because she is just to happy to sit still)
the colors (the blue dress on the blue chair with the green blanket)
her feet ( I am not sure why, but the strike me as something I really like about this photo)
My daughter does not cry a lot, but when she does this is kinda what my world feels like;)
The things I like and feel work well in this photo:
she is in a sea of almost nothingness
she is wearing a wonderful tye-dye shirt that adds to the color swirl
the wood grain on the floor pointing to her foot
she looks like the world is ending (and the fact that she is alone in the photo (without toys, cats, bother, ...) helps add to this despair feeling
I took lots of photos of him on his horse, and may of them are cool. I picked this one because of the funky thing going on with his head and the laundry basket.
The things I like and feel work well in this photo:
the laundry basket holes are fulling contained within his head
the warm light in the background
the look of joy on his face
there is nothing in focus (because his world is always moving so fast I did not want any standing still in the photo)
This photo is indicative of these two. He is always moving at the speed of light and she is sitting still watching him
The things I like and feel work well in this photo:
the colors
the movement
He is leaning in to kiss her.
The things I like and feel work well in this photo:
you can feel the love he has for her
his face is just a ghost of a face
her seemingly indifference
his shadow on the wall that says to me "I love her, but I can not stop moving"
