More Crafts

I made a couple of things to take on our train trip with us for family and I never got to show them to you so here they are:

I got the idea for these from Sew Darn Cute. I love that book. They are coasters for my MIL. She liked them.

I also made the headband that my mom is wearing in this photo. It is also from Sew Darn Cute. I did make a small change to the way she made it, but other then that it was an easy project. My mom liked it A LOT. (she asked if I would make more for her (which I will) and my dad asked if I would make one for him (to keep his hair out of his eyes while he is driving) so now I have to come up with a way to make it less cute:)

Two Little Monsters

And you thought I was talking about the kids:) I made these yesterday at my friend Kari's house. She had a 1/2 day of work and we decided to make it a 1/2 craft day (we got there around noon and left around 7:30 so not really a 1/2 day but TONS of fun.) I made these monsters out of this book, it is a great one. ( I will say that I made them much bigger then she called for in the book. I do not think that it would be doable at the size she said... well not doable by me that is:)

Here is a photo of the back of them. The kids picked out the fabrics.

Here are 4 little monsters (OK most of the time the big ones are just kids, but they are transformers also.) (oh and you can see the stage curtain that I made for the puppet theater. I had a craft day here last week and worked on them.)

Sunday

I had a nice day on Sunday. Elijah was just getting better , but not all better yet, so Mark went to church with Ada Liz and Elijah and I stayed home. I REALLY wanted to sew so I made a deal with him (one hour of sewing and I would take him to the park (we have not been to the park very much with all the snow and cold)) he jumped at the idea. So I spent 50 Min's getting a Christmas gift done, better late then never right? and then we went to the park. (BTW it was COLD and we did not stay long)

Later in the day I got to meet up with Kari and Mary and knit for awhile. That was fun! I got this fun scarf done. I was going to make it a long scarf, but it just felt done short and I love it. I am going to make some more short ones that maybe we can do fun things with. Mary is going to take one of the short ones and try and make a bracelet from it and I am going to make a hair band from one of them.... so many options.....

Sorry that the photos are not great.

Then after I got home Mark and I went out to dinner to celebrate Valentines Day! It was fun to just be out with him and talk about some stuff that has been on both of our minds.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Oh and I got a nice workout yesterday and today.

New Scarf

Well I got sewing today. Mark really liked the scarves that I made so I "had" to go to the fabric store to get stuff to make one for him.... and after "having" to go to the fabric store I really HAD to get over the "not using my sewing machine after it took a bite out of my finger" thing.

Gift making update.

Well I still have a couple of things to do, but here is a list of most of the stuff that I did make for Christmas and what Santa brought for the kids:

I made this bag for my sister.  I made one for my mom also (different fabric) but I forgot to take a photo of it.... (Mom can you take a photo of it?)

I made a kids bag from these fabrics (also forgot to take photo).

These light saver shirts.

This bag for my friend Mary (she has been waiting for this for some time).

Two covers for bean bag chairs.

Two crowns.

Two puppets.  I LOVE the way these came out, very easy and cute.  I got the pattern here.

I also made some banners and gave away some tissue holders and wine bags.

And last but not least here are the shirts that Santa brought for the kids.

I have been VERY busy working on all the Christmas gifts. I can not tell you about them or show them to you, but I will after Christmas. The photo above is of Elijah and I making candy's for gifts also. He is a great helper!

I will write more after Christmas, but between now and then I might be a little sparse. I am also behind in all my blog reading and commenting so please do not get offened if I am not commenting on your blog, just know that I am sewing up a storm. (With the show being on the 6th of December I have to get everything for Christmas done after that and it has ment lots of time on my machine.)

Please Help!!!

So here are some of the tissue holders that I made for the show. I am going to sell them for $4 and have been having a disagreement with my table mates. I do not think that they look as nice when they have tissues in them and do not want to go out and buy tissues for them, but they think that I should sell them with tissues in them. Do you think for $4 you would expect to have tissues in the holders? Please take a minute and vote (over in my sidebar, I have never used a poll before and not sure if it is working so if it does not please feel free to just leave comment). Thank you.

This is how I am going to display them.

Bags and Kids and Things That Fly

As I promised here is a bag I made for the show. I really was going to sell it, but I fell in love with it and so today I filled it up and am braking it in (that way I can't sell it;)

And here are a couple of photo of the kids today:

Elijah made this cool thing (it had some story about lasers, shooting bad guys and I do not know what else, but it is cute! (maybe I should not be calling something that shots bad guys cute...))

This one is cute! OK no things that fly, but it sounded like a good title.

Quilt Weekend

So some of the stuff I did is in the shop. You can see it to the right. I did not make the Hawaiian one this weekend, but the other 3 I did. I also made:

This cute bag, but I sold it right away! My first sale!!! (OK it was a friend, but still!)

These cute little shirts.

These 3 little bags are mostly done, but I did not like the handles that I took on the weekend with me for them so I had to leave them unfinished.

I also got some new fabric for a quilt and I started getting that together. I have most of the strips cut and some of the blocks started. I do not have a photo of that right now, but I will get one up soon.

Home At Last

We had a great weekend. I learned lots of great stuff, got lots of fabric, and laughed my pants off a lot. I do not have photos of all the stuff I got done and am not going to blog about the weekend now, but I wanted to share this fun photo of the 3 of us.
I also wanted to show you what I did today.
These napkins are fun and easy.

Here they are laid out. I made 4 of them.

The idea for these banners comes from my friend Stephanie and you can see more of her cool stuff here.

I made 3 sets of these and only had to go to the fabric store 2 times;)

Do you listen to me?

I was talking to Elijah today and he was asking his 100th question of the day (it is 7:30am and he has to get as many questions in before 8am LOL). I answered him and then he asked me again. Sometimes this goes on and on (him asking the same questions again and again.) But today I wanted to put a stop to it.

Z: Do you listen to me when I answer your questions?
E: No

Well now that answers a lot of my questions!

Yesterday he was talking with my mom and dad. I can hear everything that is said and am making dinner. I am only 1/2 listening, but I did hear this part ...

(they have been telling stories they make them up and each taking a turn)

My Mom: But I wanted the rainbow bird to live and make rainbows.
E: OK then a cannon comes and booms him out of the sky!!!
giggle giggle giggle

All is well here we are just busy. I am getting ready to go on my craft weekend (48 hours without kids and nothing to do but craft!!! ) I will be working on making bags so look for my shop to open sometime next week. Also my Mother-in-law is coming on Sat. I love when she comes it is so much fun, but I did think maybe I should clean a little bit for her and get some groceries.

I will try and write tomorrow, but we are leaving at noon and I do not have a lick of clothing packed (most of my craft stuff is packed, but I better get that done also) so it may not happen. I told my friends that I would be in the driveway with my bags packed yelling their names at noon so they better not be late;)

Yet Another Crafting Day

Yesterday we (Elijah and I) went to a friends house. She has 2 kids and the 3 kids played all day while my friend and I crafted. I got 13 new bags cut out and ready to sew!!! I can hardly wait to sew them. Does it seem crazy to try and have a crafting day with 3 kids under 6? Yes you say. I would of agreed, but it went well. Her house was a little crazy when we where done, but we got it fixed up.

Crafty Thursday

Yesterday I had a friend from Church stop by and we worked on the quilt that we are doing for the Church's crying room. It is moving along, slowly, but moving. It will look way cute when it is done.

Birthday Gift

I woke up at 5 today, so I decided to make a bag for a birthday party that we are going to today. I know I could have waited a little longer to make it even closer;) I did buy a gift to give to this little girl, but wanted to make her a bag and ran out of time, so when I could not sleep I got up and did it. I think it came out cute. (You maybe seeing some of these on in my etsy site when I get it up and running.)

Cute yes?

One Down

Well I found something to do with one of the fabrics. Elijah likes it.

Super Fun Day with Friends

Yesterday there was a big sale at Jo-Ann's and I went with 2 of my good friends! Boy was if fun to be away from the kids for most of the day. I went a little nuts, but not to bad. Here is the fun stuff I got.

Some cool patterns for bags (because I REALLY need to make more bags;) (by the way I am going to start trying to sell some of the bags I make... trying to make it so I can get more fabric help defer the cost a little bit;)

I do not know what I am going to do with these cute fabrics, but I HAD to have them... right? I also got a bunch of notions, but Ada Liz climbed into the photo of them.

After Jo-Ann's we went to lunch and then a quilt store, but I was very good in the quilt store and did not get anything.

When I got home the kids where in their rooms so I started working on a bag that I had cut out. (I was either feeling guilty or crafty;)

Here it is! I got it done after the kids went to bed, and after Mark and I had a date (I love a date with my husband!)

I think it came out cute. Please ignore the thread that I did not get clipped off. I can not wait to wear it today!

Finally I just wanted to put up this cute photo of Ada Liz. I just love her smile.
