Break From Trip Photos
So we have been having a great time. Most of the trouble that I was having with Elijah before the trip is gone (thank goodness). He is back to being his sweet self. He and Ada have been playing SUPER well together and it is fun to watch. Many days he says "I want to have some play time with Ada." (and she LOVES playing with him, even if it means that she might be bouncing off the walls:)
Ada has been growing so fast it is hard to keep up with her. She talks up a storm! Yesterday when asked her mommy was she took a hold of me and "Ada's Mommy!" When my friend asked her if I was also Elijah's mommy she said "NO!" I asked where Elijah's mommy was and she said " She went bye bye" (she's a trouble maker in the making:)
We are also in the process of getting rid of her NUK's. So far so good, but it has only been a little over a day. She was waking up in the middle of the night when they fell out and screaming at the top of her little lungs. We where getting really sick of that, so one night I just stopped going in. When she asks about them we just say NUK went bye bye (I hope this has nothing to do with Elijah's mommy going bye bye).
These photos are a couple of weeks old, but they where so fun I wanted to put them up.

Ada Liz
I have not told you much about what Ada Liz is up to these days and I do not have lots of time today, but here is a quick update.
She is stilling at the table (still in the high chair because we have not gotten the booster out for her yet.)
She is using forks and spoons very well.
She is fitting in the family very well by talking up a storm. She always wants to know what different things are called. Today we where in the van and she yells "airplane!' and sure enough there was a plane in the sky (I did not even know she knew that word).
She LOVES to have stories read to her and would let you read to her all day (just like her brother).
And in the last couple of days she has wanted to sit on the potty. (she has not done anything, but read on it yet, but she is interested.)

Our sick little girl.
This was when she had a fever of 103. She would not stop crying unless Mark was holding her (not me just Mark).
This was before my appt at 3ish with 2 cranky kids. I think she kinda looks JCrewish here... well if she did not have the nuk in:)
That nap helped them both make it through dinner.

Sleepy
Ada Liz was up crying MANY times last night, and now she is back in the crib for the 3rd time today (it is only 8:40am). I am not sure if she is really wanting a nap or if she is just trying to get away from her brother. Every time he hugs her, or yells in her ear, or .... (all out of wanting to help) she starts to cry and says "NAP! NAP! NAP!" So I have just been putting her in the crib, not sure if she is sleeping, but she is not crying.... should be a fun day.
She crying now so I have to go.

Ada-Liz
Last night while I was tucking her into bed:
AL: Nuk
(I give her the other nuk, so now she has 2... she must have 2)
Me: Now Ada if you loss that in the night just go back to sleep OK?
AL: OK (with other nuk in mouth)
Me: (pointing to the one in her mouth) and if you loss that one just go back to sleep also, OK?
(silence)
Me: OK? Ada?
(more silence then)
AL: OK
(It was not a very confident OK, but she did say it;)
She slept through the night... maybe I just need to tell her to:)

Yesterday
Yesterday my friend Stephanie and her kids came over to play (that is 4 kids all together). I was ready for the tree to come down and get the Christmas stuff put away. I had it mostly done when Stephanie got here. She was inspired to help me re-arrange the down stairs (GOD BLESS HER!). We move everything in the living room and toy room. It looks so GREAT now!
Once we got the TV out of this stand I was ready to put this on the curb.... I am a little tired of it, but Elijah piped up "we could do puppet shows in it" Man he is a smart 5 year old. I will be making some curtains for it soon.
At the end of the day all I wanted to do was sit down on the sofa, cuddle up with Mark and watch Dr Who (thank you again Alyssa for Netflix). So at 6:30 when we sat down to a wonderful dinner of calzones Mark says " you are going to have to eat fast so that you can make it to class" Bummer class I forgot about class (I could be sick..... no I love the class and want to go... sorta... mostly). So I chowed down on my food and left the house about 10 min's later.
I made it to class on time and had a good class. When I went to get in my car after class it was .... gone. I was fairly sure that it must of been towed and not stolen so my Pastor drove me around the neighborhood to look for it... no luck. So he drove me home (what a nice man). I called and found out where it was and we (all of us) went to pick it up today. On the way out of the house Mark asked me about why the tree was still on the front porch. I told him that we could not get the stand off of it so we did not put it on the street. The jokingly said "well today will be the day they pick up the trees" and yes he was right. So we still have a tree and all the others in the neighborhood are gone...
OK on to one good story and then I will let you get back to your life's.
Ada Liz and I where in the car today after going grocery shopping.
AL: Ada Bad GuyZ: No Ada not bad guy
AL: Ada Bad Guy
Z: No Ada good guy
AL: NO NO NO NO Ada Bad Guy.
Z: OK Ada bad guy (heehee)
Oh the joys of having a 5 year old big brother;)

Happy New Year!
We went to our friends house to spend the night for New Years Eve. We got to play cards and the kids had a blast. I made these scarves for them.
New Years day (still at our friends house) Elijah comes down stairs to inform us that he is feeling sick. He then went on to be sick for the rest of the day and into the night. (He was up at 8:30, 10:30, and 12:30 being sick and up again at 3:30.) He is keeping food down today and seems better, but without all the energy that he is used to;)
Mark renamed our little girl "iron guts" because she just kept eating and she did not get sick.

Gift Update
I got the last family gift done today!!! I still have a bunch of other stuff to make, but I wanted to get the stuff done for the kids before Christmas. (maybe next year I should try not to cut it so close;)I will post photos after Christmas, until then I have a little bit of shopping left to do. Ada Liz and I are going off to Target in a bit to get that done. Elijah is having a sleep over at my friend Kari's house (she has 2 wonderful kids his age) so I am free to shop without the "what is that for" questions.
Happy Holidays!

More Elijah Stories
I just had to put this photo up after 5 million cute photos of Ada Liz just to let everyone know that she does cry. Not much, but I just loved the way she was crying and I left her and ran off to get my camera. (just so you know she did not fall down I put her down and that is what made her cry, I am not that bad a mom;)
So on to the story. Boy Elijah has just been full of good blogworthy stories these days.
(out of no where)
E: What would happen if there was a fire in our house and we where not there?
Z: Well most likely one of the neighbor's would see the fire and they would call 911.
E: Oh
(we spent about 5 mins talking about other things like what does wigglepiggle mean (he always makes up words and gives them a definition that no one but him knows))
(out of nowhere again)
E: What if they do not see it?
Z: See what Elijah?
E: The fire?
Z: (Oh) Well then the house would burn down. But it would be a good thing that we are not in the house because that means that none of us would get hurt.
(WHY DID I SAY THAT, BOY I HOPE HE DOES NOT THINK ABOUT THE CATS THAT ARE ALWAYS HOME!!!!)
(Holding breath)
E: Oh, but where would we live?
Z: (breath, breath) Well we pay for insurance so the insurance company would build us a new house.
E: OH That is nice of them. Do you know what ziggle pop is?
( Thank you God for getting me out of that one.)

Bags and Kids and Things That Fly
As I promised here is a bag I made for the show. I really was going to sell it, but I fell in love with it and so today I filled it up and am braking it in (that way I can't sell it;)
And here are a couple of photo of the kids today:
Elijah made this cool thing (it had some story about lasers, shooting bad guys and I do not know what else, but it is cute! (maybe I should not be calling something that shots bad guys cute...))
This one is cute! OK no things that fly, but it sounded like a good title.

Today
So some of you may know this about me, but I am not a big fan of the cold. My perfect day is a warm (high 80's and low 90's) with a nice gentle breeze, flowers blooming. I know that some of you would say that I should not live in the mid-west, but that is where we ended up so we have to live with it (alright I have to live with it;). So there was a bit of sadness when I looked out the window to find this:
Elijah is already dressed in the photo because he has already been out in the snow and only came back in because Mark had to go to work. I convinced him that we should have breakfast before he went back out.
E: can I go back out in the snow.
Z: Yes you can, just wait until I am out of the shower and dressed.
E: Can even Ada come out too?
Z: (That means I have to go out too.....) Yes (the things that I do not do for my kids!)
So breakfast and out we all went.
I am happy to say that we had fun, for about 10 min's (about my limit) and Ada Liz was ready to come in, (that's my girl!!!)

What Are you Old Enough For?
Ada Liz started walking this weekend!!!! Also we turned her car seat around. She is getting to be such a big girl! When Elijah saw that seat turned around he said:
"Ada Liz I am old enough to have crayons in my room and you are old enough to sit the right way!"

Wonderful Day
Warning: This blog is all about kids! Way to many photos, but they where all cute, so I had to put them all up.... anyway it has been some time since I blogged about the kids.
Today it was in the mid 70's and we where to go to a friends house, but I did not feel up to it. Ada Liz, Elijah and I all have colds and we all seemed bad when we got up, so I passed on going to our friends house (this is a bummer as she just got done with a bunch of construction and I wanted to see how her house looks now... but it can wait).
So we stayed home and played, and rested. It has been nice so far today.
Who would have believed that we would be playing in the sand box in Sept?
OK this so looks like a kid in the middle of summer not start of fall. Am I so loving the warm weather.
She was a sandy mess, but loving it!
She is standing now all the time and she can walk a couple of steps. She just keeps adding more and more steps to her walking. Elijah just up and walked one day and the next week he was running, but she is taking her time. That is OK with me, do not grow up to fast little girl.
After a bunch of playing we had our lunch outside. We have been having dinner outside for a couple of night now and it was nice to do it at lunch time also.
I think that laying down helps get more ketchup on your face and then you can look cuter after you are all done (beauty tip for the day;)

This is how I watched the kids play, after I got done cutting out all the eyeballs (it is a cute fabric I got at one of my many trips to the fabric store;) for a shirt I am making for Elijah... OK I could not have a blog about only kids I had to throw a little craft in there. I will show you the cute shirt as soon as it is done.
